When the prince she was supposed to marry falls for someone else, Edeena Saleri is done with Garronia's courts, crowns, and family curses. She grabs her sisters and escapes to the nobility-free coast of South Carolina, USA.

Refuge isn't anything like it's supposed to be, however. The family's island vacation home now borders a singles' retreat, which Edeena's sisters embrace all too eagerly. Worse, the private protection firm Edeena hires is run by the most infuriating man she's ever met—a rough-hewn, dark-eyed, charismatic charmer named, of course, Prince. He's not a royal and he's nowhere near noble, so there’s no way he can break the family curse. And yet...

Vincent “Prince" Rallis has spent his whole life justifying his name. The son of hardworking immigrant parents, he’s hustled for every dime, finally building a personal security firm with the muscle and grit to live up to its promises. He’s used to keeping his cool, but when the high-strung, high-class Edeena shuts him down despite her obvious interest, pride demands he fight for her—even if he has to track her back to her glittering court to prove his point. Only once Prince arrives in the seaside kingdom of Garronia, he finds his troubles are just beginning.

Sometimes love in Garronia can be magic. And sometimes you're just Cursed.

The description of the book is far more enticing than the book itself. Edeena is not "done" with the royal court and her family's curse; she and her sisters do not "escape"; Prince has not spent his life trying to justify his nickname; the singles resort plays an insignificant role merely to add a titillation factor.

The plot was really flimsy. Edeena and her sisters are very minor royalty from a very minor foreign country. There is no apparent reason they would need a security team for protection. Edeena is prepared to martyr herself (emotionally) in order to counteract a centuries-old family curse, but hasn't even made an effort to research the terms and specifics of the curse. She seems to just accept whatever "everyone" tells her even though that information keeps changing.

Cursed Carolina Royals Book 1 A Gowns Crowns novel eBook Jennifer Chance Reviews

A great read of a romance mystery. Responsible for two younger sisters since her mother's death and subject to a long time country curse, marriage by age 27 is truly in her hands.
This book series just keeps getting better. Cursed was a great story beginning to end. A nice feature is that it stands on its own(although I would recommend reading te series from the start). Character and story development is great and you really get wrapped up in every detail. I can't wait to read the next book in the series ^_^
It was different. Odd actually. The need for security was a little unreal as was the threat from her father. Or the curse. Maybe it was me but it was just an OK read.

I won’t read the continuation of the story.
The story drew in the reader and so did the characters.

The female lead was strong and singleminded.
This book was highly annoying. The curse which was no real curse at all was repetitive and unnecessary. The way in which the hero and heroine came to be just plain ridiculous. This book needs editing and to be organized. Writing was childish and sporadic.
The story was good.It moved a bit slow for me and I found it hard to understand all the curse woes.
Prince was a strong leading character,as was Edeema.
I enjoyed reading this book and the fairy tale type story was sweet and I love a good happily ever after, but I kept having to remind myself not be so critical because of the impossibility of the story. It's fiction, just enjoy it.
